Engaged learning loops - Mobile
Overview
After launching Tech Foundations, customers were thrilled that we had built learning experiences for everyone, not just technical audiences. The next challenge was to imagine what the next version of Tech Foundations could look like, especially through a mobile-first lens.
Our goal was to explore how we could help learners build and maintain conversational tech fluency in a more engaging, accessible, and personalized way.

My role
As Principal Product Designer, I led the design vision and facilitation for this initiative. My responsibility was to bring together leaders and ICs from across the business, including product, learning science, and strategy, to co-create a visiontype. This was a tangible, narrative-driven prototype that could inspire executive leadership and major clients.
Facilitating Collaboration
With many voices in the room, I focused on alignment and momentum. I facilitated a series of FigJam workshops where each team shared their best insights, from learning-science principles to customer discovery findings to company vision statements. My role was to keep discussions focused, draw out connections, and guide the group toward actionable ideas.

Generating Ideas
To translate discussion into design, we ran a Crazy 8s exercise. Each participant sketched eight quick ideas to visualize what “next-level learning” might look like.
From there, we grouped and discussed themes, writing narrative flows that mapped end-to-end learner experiences.

Synthesizing a Direction
After a round of voting and refinement, I consolidated the strongest ideas into a cohesive concept. To stay grounded, I defined success criteria before designing the mobile experience.
We asked: How might we help learners build and maintain conversational tech fluency while creating a premium experience we're looking for?
Our guiding principles included:
✅ Incorporate formative assessments for active learning
✅ Use shorter-form content to increase accessibility
✅ Enable deeper learning paths for mastery
✅ Add gamified moments to drive engagement
✅ Design for mobile-first, on-the-go use
✅ Personalize content for each learner’s goals
How might we help learners build and maintain conversational tech fluency while creating a premium experience?
Design & Outcome
I designed a set of mobile screens that brought this vision to life, weaving in our success criteria while maintaining the high-quality, aspirational feel that defines TQ. Throughout the process, I sought feedback from team members and stakeholders to refine the flow and ensure alignment.
The final visiontype became a powerful storytelling tool. Leadership used it to present the future of learning to our largest enterprise client, reinforcing our position as innovators in the learning space.

Reflection
This project reminded me that design leadership is as much about facilitation and storytelling as it is about pixels and flows. By creating space for diverse perspectives and channeling them into a clear, inspiring vision, we built something that not only looked great but also shaped strategic direction.
